VRX Significant Events – High-Grade Silica Sand
Since early 2018 when VRX Silica identified an Asia-Pacific silica sand shortage the Company has:
- Exploration licences granted at Arrowsmith North,
- Exploration licences granted at Arrowsmith Central,
- Muchea Silica Sand Project acquired,
- Boyatup Silica Sand Project acquired,
- Heritage Surveys with Traditional Owners conducted on all Silica Sand Projects,
- Over 4,800 metres of hand auger and aircore drilling completed at the Arrowsmith and Muchea Silica Sand Projects,
- Completed Compensation Agreements with Traditional Owners of the Arrowsmith and Muchea Silica Sand Projects,
- Mining Leases granted at Arrowsmith North, Central and Muchea,
- Miscellaneous Licences granted at Arrowsmith and Muchea,
- Environmental Surveys conducted over the Arrowsmith and Muchea Silica Sand Projects,
- Devised and proved an environmentally sustainable continuous rehabilitation method of Vegetation Direct Transfer (VDT),
- Completed Bankable Feasibility Studies (BFS) on the Arrowsmith and Muchea Silica Sand Projects,
- Conducted extensive testwork to optimise environmentally friendly processes to upgrade the sand and produce a product list for offtake customers,
- Continued negotiations with offtake parties,
- Advanced discussions with plant suppliers and contractors,
- Advanced discussions with railway operators, and
- Advanced discussions with port authorities.
